OBJECTIVES:
  • A programme to strengthen mathematical understanding and competence among students of classes IX & X.

  • Provides an opportunity for students to understand and internalize the basic mathematical concepts by using different manipulates.

  • Based on the principle that students learn mathematical concepts more quickly & easily when they actually touch, feel and manipulate different material.

  • Helps build interest and confidence in learning mathematics.

  • Encourage students to become independent learners.

  • The components are so versatile that each can be used to explore different concepts.

  • Includes easily adaptable open-ended activities.

  • Helps students learn mathematics, a stimulating and satisfying subject, in most simpler and effective way.


ONE SET OF MATH LAB CONTAINS: 

Contains multiple pieces of 20 manipulative items and over 120activities.

   

The topics/concepts conform to the curriculum

   

Each concept is explained in simple steps that children can master by experimenting with suggestive manipulative/material

   

There are three types of activities-exploratory, experimental and practice activities.

   

The activities can be chosen by the student according to the complexity and his/her ability level.

   

Most of the concepts/activities have been explained with the help of certain material. But the same material can be used for different Concepts and at different levels of complexity depending upon the Ingenuity and creativity of the teacher/student.
